Ted Cruz Demands Apology From N.Y. Times After Book Omitted From Bestseller List

Some conservatives are criticizing the New York Times for allegedly refusing to put Texas Senator Ted Cruz's book on its bestseller list even though the tome qualifies for the spot.
Multiple media outlets report that the New York Times reportedly informed HarperCollins publishing this week that Cruz's biography "A Time for Truth" will not be on the upcoming New York Times Bestseller list even though it qualifies for the number two spot in hardcover fiction after selling 11,854 copies.
According to Politico, when HarperCollins inquired with the New York Times as to why Cruz's new biography was not on this week's list, Times spokesperson Eileen Murphy reportedly responded by saying "We have uniform standards that we apply to our best seller list, which includes an analysis of book sales that goes beyond simply the number of books sold."
"This book didn't meet that standard this week," she added.
The Cruz camp then took to the 2016 presidential hopeful's official campaign website to denounce the New York Times' recent decision.
"The Times is presumably embarrassed by having their obvious partisan bias called out. But their response—alleging 'strategic bulk purchases'—is a blatant falsehood," Cruz campaign spokesperson Rick Tyler said in a statement. "The evidence is directly to the contrary. In leveling this false charge, the Times has tried to impugn the integrity of Senator Cruz and of his publisher Harper Collins."
"We call on the Times, release your so-called 'evidence.' Demonstrate that your charge isn't simply a naked fabrication, designed to cover up your own partisan agenda. And, if you cannot do so, then issue a public apology to Senator Cruz and Harper Collins editor Adam Bellow for making false charges against them," the statement added.
