Taylor Swift 'The Voice' 'Blank Space' Performance Trumps the Show

Taylor Swift wowed the audience during the live elimination round of "The Voice" last Tuesday when she performed her hit single "Blank Space."

Swift was an advisor during the show's Season 7 and, hence, viewers and fans were already familiar with her.

The Voice" elimination round was intense as it saw two competitors being voted off.

But what made it more captivating was Swift's rendition of "Blank Space" even if it featured much less theatrics than her opening act in the recently concluded American Music Awards. In that show, she took to the stage with a palatial set that featured a dining table, food, chandeliers and even fed a poisoned apple to one of the dancers.

During "The Voice," Swift kept it simple. She donned a black outfit and did not employ any dancers. While her black outfit was pretty bland compared to the one she wore to the AMAs, it was cut beautifully and allowed her to show off a portion of her tummy while she pranced about on stage.

Once she took the stage, she dominated, and there was no way any judge would have turned her back on her if she was one of the contestants. She also flirted with the audience who responded enthusiastically to her song and kept dancing through it. At one point she even went up to a guy in the audience and proceeded to flirt with him.

As for Swift's next appearance on "The Voice," the producers of the show are hinting that she might be included as a judge in the next season. However, she will not be a full-time judge but instead occupy the red chair whenever a judge goes on leave.

Currently "Blank Space" occupies the number one position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart after it took over the spot from "Shake It Off," the other single from her "1989" album. This succession of hits on the charts made her the only woman having back-to-back singles at the top of the charts.
