Survivor CBS News, Spoilers: No Redemption Island Twist This Season

Hugely popular reality show Survivor Blood vs Water is back, and people have already started exiting the show. This season started off with Nadiya, Val and John Rocker being voted out, and more are to come.
Since his elimination Rocker has spoken about his experience in Survivor. In his interview with Parade, Rocker describes how he was happy to leave because he was miserable playing the "survivor" game.
Due to the brutal conditions of the show, he ended up losing 19 pounds over a period of 10 days as there was not enough food to eat. He had initially thought that the cast would get bottled water and food in secret but that was not the case, and he claims the first thing he did after he was voted off was to eat well.
Rocker also described how he thought he was safe, as Dale the weakest link in the Coyopa team, was still around and so he did not play his immunity idol. This departure by Rocker will no doubt further weaken team Coyopa as they now only have six members.
Breathecast has a roundup of spoilers for the 29th season of survivor, one of which is that producers were considering bringing back the Redemption Island twist but have since shelved the idea. Instead the show will have Survivor Exile with a twist, and couples or players in pairs will face off in a duel. The winners will get the right to return to camp, while the losers will have to be isolated until they are ready to face the next challenge in the game.
As for the immunity idol, Breathecast notes that this season will include a clue to where it is hidden but there won't be one on Exile island anymore. The Immunity Idol was already a bone of contention when Val lied that she had two and was quickly voted off the show.
