Surface Pro 5 release date delay, specs news: Hybrid tablet's launch delayed until 2017?
Many tech freaks are eagerly waiting for the release of the upcoming Microsoft Surface Pro 5 this year; however, new reports suggest that it is quite unlikely for the hybrid to get rolled out in 2016.

Apparently, the launching of the Surface Pro 5 will be delayed by Microsoft until March 2017. Reports also noted that the device will get up to 16 GB of random access memory (RAM). It will be a much improved Surface Pro 5 that will hit the market as it features a 4K Ultra High-Definition (UHD) display and a new Surface Pen technology.
According to a report by Tech Times, part of the plan is for the Surface Pro 5 to have a more powerful processor, Intel's upcoming Kaby Lake. It was recently announced by Intel that the next-generation processor won't get rolled out until the last quarter of this year. This poses a major problem for Microsoft if it pushes for a 2016 release of the Surface Pro 5.
It was previously reported that the American software giant was gearing up for a June 2016 launching of the tablet. However, speculations about its delayed release have emerged online.
According to Mobipicker, a reliable source from China, the device will not be released until springtime next year. The source also confirmed that the Surface Pro 5 will run on Intel's Kaby Lake processors, which is expected to be more powerful than the current Skylake processors.
Other impressive features include a much improved camera and a USB Type-C port. The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is said to run on Windows 10 Redstone 2, along with AMD Polaris or Nvidia Pascal graphics card.
Meanwhile, tech observers suggest that the hybrid tablet could be priced at $899 for the less powerful variant, which is not expected to get the 4K UHD display. On the other hand, the top-of-the-line models with 4K display support could have a price tag of up to $1,599.
