'Supernatural' season 12 trailer, news: Trailer reveals flashes of Mary Winchester's story

In The CW's latest trailer for the fantasy horror TV series "Supernatural," fans were treated to a preview of the Winchester matriarch.

The trailer teased a first glimpse of Mary Winchester (Samantha Smith) meeting the angel Castiel (Misha Collins). The brief trailer even revealed a scene involving dictator Adolf Hitler in Nazi Germany.

Aside from the blast from the pasts, the two-minute clip showed Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) wearing leather, Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) being tortured by the British sector of the Men of Letters, and a weeping Lucifer (Rick Springfield).

An extended trailer, on the other hand, started with Cas climbing out of a ditch. This happens rights after Amara aka The Darkness (Emily Swallow) removed Lucifer from his vessel. Immediately, the angel asked a passer-by, who checked the ditch that Cas came out in, about how far they were from Lebanon, Kansas.

Eventually, the angel will be taking a road trip with Crowley (Mark Sheppard), the king of hell. When Cas finds a lead about the whereabouts of Lucifer, the pair waste no time to hunt him down.

The trailer also showed Elizabeth Blackmore as Lady Toni, a member of the British Men of Letters. Lady Toni was telling her colleagues that the Winchester brothers weren't as good as the monsters they failed to take down.

In season 12, fans of the show will see May hunting monsters with her sons. In one particular scene, she flashed a fake FBI badge during a case with the brothers. This season, viewers will learn a lot about their mother's past.

Aside from Samantha Smith returning as Mary Winchester and Elizabeth Blackmore as Lady Toni, "Supernatural" season 12 will also feature the return of Adam Rose as Aaron Bass.

"Supernatural" season 12 will be returning to The CW on Oct. 15, at 9 p.m. EDT.
