'Supernatural' season 12 episode 7 spoilers: Rick Springfield stars as Lucifer's new vessel; Sam and Dean head to rock concert

Rick Springfield rocks out as Lucifer on the upcoming episode of The CW's "Supernatural" season 12.
Titled "Rock Never Dies," next week's episode will feature the real-life musician make his first appearance on the show as Lucifer's new vessel. According to the official synopsis, Lucifer enters the body of rock star Vince Vincente (Springfield) after realizing that he cen get his fans to do whatever he desires. Thrilled with his newfound power, Lucifer organizes a secret VIP concert in an attempt to kill all of Vince's followers. Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) explore the hidden part of the music industry to try to stop him before it's too late.
Joining the hunt for Lucifer is Castiel (Misha Collins) and former king of hell Crowley (Mark Sheppard). As fans know, Crowley wants to kill Lucifer for revenge and to get his kingdom back. Castiel, on the other hand, is still angry at Lucifer for using his body as his vessel in season 11. Viewers will see the two characters join forces to achieve one goal for the first time on episode 7.
The promo clip from The CW opens with the Winchester brothers inside their car driving off to somewhere. "Hair rock? Really?" an irritated Dean tells Sam about his choice of music. "You like it," his younger brother fires back. The next scene cuts to Vince telling someone that he is a "rock god" while his fans gather outside a bar taking pictures of him. Sam and Dean attend his concert to try to stop him and while looking at Vince on stage, Dean says "Rock is dead."
Unfortunately for fans, the series will have a one week break for the Thanksgiving holiday. It will return with a new episode on December 1.
"Supernatural" season 12 airs every Thursday night at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
