'Supernatural' season 11 spoilers, plot news: Sam and Dean face their 'biggest challenge,' Rowena plots her next move
The 11th season of "Supernatural" will come to a close two weeks from now, and viewers will see Sam and Dean Winchester as they embark on a huge challenge.
The final episode of The CW's long-running series might be just around the corner, but before the fans bid farewell to the Winchester brothers for a while, Sam and Dean must face their nemesis Amara (also known as The Darkness). The official synopsis released by the network for next week's penultimate episode reads: "Sam and Dean face their biggest challenge yet; Rowena makes her move."
Reports say that next Wednesday's episode titled "We the Few" will feature Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) as they begin their mission to put a stop to Amara's evil tricks once and for all. The summary hints that the hunter duo will face a big challenge, but what comes after is still uncertain. A familiar face also returns to in the said episode — Rowena (Ruth Connell). The strong witch seems to be plotting to do something which will definitely affect others.
On another note, it was recently revealed that God is actually Chuck Shirley (Rob Benedict), and he is expected to help the Winchesters battle it out with Amara. In an interview with TV Line, Benedict spoke about God's interaction with Amara and how it continues to evolve. "The audience finds out a little bit more [about] where he's coming from," he said. "There's definitely a brother/sister relationship at play, and the fact that they're, basically, two sides of the same coin... That's the human side of what's going on, this whole idea of every time he created a world, she destroyed it."
Catch the season 11 penultimate episode of "Supernatural" which airs this coming May 18, Wednesday at 9 p.m. on The CW. In addition, the final episode is scheduled to air on May 25.
