'Supernatural' Season 11 news: Jim Beaver returns, gets renewed for new season

A fan favorite will make an appearance in the upcoming 16th episode of CW's "Supernatural" Season 11. The hunter Bobby Singer, played by Jim Beaver, will return in a series of flashbacks as the brothers Sam and Dean Winchester investigate a case from their old friend's past involving a malevolent entity. As fans rejoice to see Bobby appearing on the show, CW gave another reason to celebrate when they greenlit the twelfth season of the hit TV series.
In the plot synopsis for Episode 16 entitled "Safe House" from The Futon Critic website, a house will be under investigation which seems to shelter a dangerous entity. The evil sprite is released unwittingly into an old residence and attacks the innocent mother and her child that send them into a deep coma. Sam (played by Jared Padalecki) and Dean (played by Jensen Ackles) learned that Bobby (Jim Beaver) and a new character named Rufus (Steven Williams) had an encounter with the malevolent creature, leading the Winchester brothers to look into the past and figure out a way to get rid of the entity once and for all before it is finally able to claim another innocent person's life.
The latest promo for Episode 16 is a bit sketchy, although it describes the entity to be fearsome and extremely angry. One scene in the promo shows a scared child hiding from the entity under a dresser, but the entity still found him and grabbed the child, screaming, into the oblivion. In the narration in the promo clip, it teased that "the world is going to burn," adding that "one she gets started, that's the end." It is unclear though if it is the entity being described in the last line. Episode 16 will air on March 23.
The main plot of "Supernatural" Season 11 deals with Darkness a.k.a. Amara which must be imprisoned once again at all cost before she can wreak havoc on Earth. Adding more conflict is the Lucifer being free to do whatever he wants to do, and it looks like he is up to no good.
The Inquisitr website reported that "Supernatural" is one of the 11 series slated to return for a new season by CW, making it the longest running TV series produced by the company.
