CBS has yet to announce the next installment for hit TV series "Supergirl," but the rumor mill is already buzzing with so many spoilers.
One of which tells a story arc involving a superhero with the DNA of Superman and Lex Luthor. During the press screening for the Supergirl/Flash crossover episode, executive producer Andy Kreisberg discussed a few important points in the storyline of "Supergirl." Along with the Project Cadmus namedrop in season 1, the showrunner confirmed to IGN that they are saving any storyline related to Cadmus for season 2. "It's going to remain more of an evil, specter-y thing that's out there, but it's definitely something that we're going to pursue," he said. "You know, Cadmus has such a rich history in the comics and the animated shows. There's so much there to mine. It'll definitely be part of Season 2," he said.
Recently, a fan asked Melissa Benoist via Facebook about the possibility that Batgirl will make an appearance on the show and team up with Supergirl. She then gave her opinion on who should play Batman's protégé, if indeed Batgirl will be on the series. "Chyler Leigh who plays Alex on the show, her and I actually, we kind of have a theory that perhaps, and this is just us, we are not the authority on this, but we think that Alex could make a really good Batgirl," the actress said.
On another note, season 1 is still airing its last few episodes so fans can expect a renewal announcement from CBS very soon. Recently, director Kevin Smith shared on his latest "Fat Man on Batman" podcast that the upcoming "Supergirl" episode will hit fans with all the feels as it will show a big emotional moment. "You are going to cry when you see how beautiful this f****** thing is," Smith hinted.
