"Supergirl" will soon premiere its sophomore season in its new home network The CW, and the show is off to a good start since interesting characters have been confirmed to be on board.

Guest stars include "Teen Wolf" actor Tyler Hoechlin who will play the role of Kara's cousin Superman (a.k.a. Kal-El, Clark Kent) in the first two episodes and "Wonder Woman" star Lynda Carter who will portray the President of the United States. Also joining the series are veteran journalist "Snapper" Carr,  Lex Luthor's sister named Lena, a new ambitious employee of Cat Co. named Nick Farrow, a yet-to-be-named villainous female doctor and detective Maggie Sawyer.

There are speculations that Batwoman (a.k.a. Kate Kane) will also make an appearance since she has a relationship with Maggie in the comic books. Maggie was once a police officer who later on became the head of a crime unit, and she discovered Kate's superhero identity while doing an investigation. Rumor has it that Kate's cousin Batman (a.k.a. Bruce Wayne) might be in the show as well, but it remains to be seen when the fourth season airs.

Meanwhile, the Girl of Steel will land on The CW earlier than planned because the first season will be aired on the network starting next month. Two episodes will be aired every Monday beginning August 1, and at that pace, all 20 hours of the whole freshman season will be done before the season 2 premiere in the Fall.

Supergirl's move to The CW opened up a possibility for a crossover with other superhero shows in the network, and "Arrow" actor David Ramsey is looking forward to seeing the epic episode scheduled to air sometime in December. "I wanna see Diggle's expression when he sees Supergirl flying across the horizon, he said (via TV Line). "I want to know what that is."

Tune in to the season 2 premiere of "Supergirl" which airs on Oct. 17, Monday at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
