'Suits' Season 6 plot rumors and spoilers: EP hints major character's death; Rachel and Mike to call it quits?
The premiere date for popular legal drama "Suits" season 6 is just around the corner, and the show is expected to pick up on the events after Mike's guilty plea.
Executive producer Aaron Korsh previously told TV Guide that viewers will see the premiere with Mike still behind bars. A time jump is less likely to happen since there are a lot of loose ends which fans want to be resolved. "It is our plan currently to have Mike be in prison next season," he said. "We don't know at the moment when he's going to get out. We haven't gotten there yet. We're not rushing to get him out and we're not jumping ahead in time to when he gets out."
Rachel and Mike's relationship also hangs in the balance, specially after he called the wedding off. Will the strain in their relationship become worse? Korsh stated that Mike's time in prison and the two of them being away from each other will make things more painful. "The reason I had not wanted the wedding was because it seems better for next year for them not to have gotten married...They're going to be apart for a two-year-ish period of time," the EP explained. "That's going to be tougher than not going through with the wedding. She doesn't hold that against him; she understood. It's more that he's going to be in prison that's going to affect them." It remains to be seen if Rachel and Mike's relationship will come to an end, but they will surely encounter more complications in season 6.
Rumor has it that a character will die in the upcoming season, as hinted by Korsh via Twitter. There were speculations that it will be Jessica (Gina Torres) because she landed a new show but according to reports, Torres remains as a series regular for season 6. On the other hand, there is a possibility that she will bow out after the season since she is the lead actress of her new show titled "Death of Eva Sofia Valdez.'
"Suits" Season 6 premieres this coming July 13 on USA network.
