'Suits' season 6 news, spoilers: Patrick J. Adams talks Rachel-Mike wedding, leaving 'Suits'

The latest episode of "Suits" season 6 saw former fake lawyer Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) finally getting out of prison.
In the episode titled "The Hand that Feeds You," Mike was set free after he made a deal with Sean Cahill (Neal McDonough) and with a little help from Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) and Harvey's former mentor, Cameron Dennis (Gary Cole). Mike left Danbury wearing the suit he wore when he arrived and found Rachel Zane (Meghan Markle) waiting for him at the gate.
With the dream team now reunited but Mike having to start from scratch if he wants to practice law again, what will be his next steps? And will he and Rachel finally tie the knot?
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Adams said that while Mike is now free of his secret, his past is only just beginning to affect Rachel and the career she is trying to build. Though Mike's past follies will be a burden to her, ultimately, the two are stronger than they've ever been.
"They've been apart for so long and they finally have the opportunity to just be a couple without trying to hide something from the world," Adams explained. But the reunion and the couple's future will definitely not be without complications.
"I'm interested to see what wrenches the writers throw into the mix," he added.
When asked about the impending Rachel-Mike wedding, Adams revealed that the event was supposed to play out at the end of the previous season but that "Suits" creator and showrunner Aaron Korsh had decided against it at the last minute. But that doesn't mean that the wedding is no longer happening.
"... I can almost guarantee that in the back six episodes that will be dealt with in one way or another," Adams told Entertainment Weekly, adding that he is just as excited as everyone else to see how the show will pull off the highly anticipated event.
In the interview with THR, the "Suits" star also spoke about the possibility of exiting the series after its seventh season, admitting that the "seven-year itch" is "alive and well" but that he loves the show and the character.
According to the actor, the decision to continue playing Mike depends on the character's growth. "I also never want to overstay a welcome," Adams said. "I don't want to fade out and have people stop watching before it ends. I believe in picking a strong ending," he added.
"Suits" airs on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EDT on USA Network.
