'Street Fighter 5' news, updates: Capcom to support game 'as far as 2020,' says EP Yoshinori Ono

The first season of content for "Street Fighter 5" is over, and it looks like the game will be receiving support from Capcom for a few more years.
Most "Street Fighter" fans are certainly waiting for Capcom to announce the beginning of the next Future support for the hit video game franchise. The good news is that according to a recent interview with executive producers Yoshinori Ono and Tomoaki Ayano, "Street Fighter 5" will probably be supported by Capcom for four more years.
Speaking to Japanese magazine Famitsu (translated by EventHubs), Ono revealed that the company is already planning ahead for the game. "It's not just a 1-2 year thing. We're looking pretty far ahead ... We've planned out as far as 2020 or so," he said. Ayano is also optimistic about the game's continued support from Capcom, adding: "Street Fighter V is a title we're adding on to as it goes along, so we're working on it while planning ahead on the best way to develop it further."
On the chances of Capcom releasing a non-"Street Fighter" title before the game's next installment, Ono said he'd be "happy" if they could. However, they want to put more work on solidifying "'Street Fighter V' as an eSports title" first. "I said in the beginning that we've seen a higher number of entrants than we had in the 'Street Fighter IV' era, but we'd like to heighten that even further," the EP continued.
As Gamespot points out, the company plans to make "Street Fighter 5" more tournament-friendly. To do that, the company recently banned Skies of Honor, the game's latest stage, from use in the Capcom Cup. Another new stage and character has been previously teased by the game's publisher, but it remains unclear if these will be out when the upcoming tournament season begins.
