'Stranger Things' season 2 release date, spoilers news: Eleven might not return?

Netflix has confirmed the renewal of the Duffer brothers' hit supernatural horror TV series "Stranger Things." The network even revealed all nine episode titles for season 2. Ross and Matt Duffer continue to tease the audience about the upcoming season.
The original cast members seen in the pilot season of the show — Winona Ryder as Joyce, Finn Wolfhard as Mike, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin, Noah Schnapp as Will, and Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas — will be back for the forthcoming season. However, Millie Bobby Brown, who portrayed the psychokinetic Eleven, might not return. Ross Duffer said, "We don't know about Eleven." He added, "We leave that up in the air."
Ross told Entertainment Weekly that they never saw the show as an anthology. But the showrunner admitted that they talked about a large time jump, showing a much older cast. However, this won't be the case for season 2. "There's still more story here, there's still things that are unresolved," the producer said.
The brothers also shared that four new characters will be joining the cast next season. There have been rumors suggesting that the episode entitled "The Lost Brother" might be referring to one of the experiments in the government facility, probably Ten, Nine, or Eight.
Furthermore, the setting for season 2 will go beyond Hawkings, Indiana. Matt revealed that the opening scene of the pilot episode will not take place in the small town.
The brothers also revealed one more location that will be visited next season, what the characters refer to as "the upside down." Since fans were only able to see a fraction of the alternate dimension, next season will explore it further. Fans will also find their answers to the unsolved mysteries in season 1, particularly about the demogorgon.
The second season of "Stranger Things" will return to Netflix in 2017.
