'Steven Universe' season 4 spoilers, return date: Listings suggest Thanksgiving premiere; new fusion speculated
"Steven Universe" season 4 will be back next month with a brand new episode, but Cartoon Network is yet to announce a return date, but new reports seem to have uncovered that already.
Listings from TV Maze and Episodate indicate that episode 8 titled "Gem Harvest" will be released on Thanksgiving, which is on Nov. 24 this year. This makes sense since the installment is believed to be a Thanksgiving special.
In addition, almost all "Steven Universe" season 4 episodes have been airing on Thursdays except for episode 2 "Know Your Fusion," which aired Friday, right after the premiere.
With that said, it could be that "Gem Harvest" will air on Thanksgiving Day. With regards to what the episode will entail, show creator Rebecca Sugar revealed minute at the New York Comic-Con (NYCC) that it will be a 30- special.
However, major sites such as TV Guide or Zap2it do not appear to have listings for the upcoming episodes. Instead, the former lists a string of episodes scheduled Monday, Nov. 7 to Thursday, Nov. 10.
The titles of each listing are simply "Steven Universe" and that the synopses are placeholder only. This could be that there is no update on the schedule yet.
Media outlets, however, are starting to report that Nov. 7 marks the return of "Steven Universe" season 4 and that what fans have in front of them is a "Steven Bomb," which means that they will get new episodes everyday of the week starting Nov. 7.
However, it should be noted that back in April, when the show was also on hiatus, listings for Monday, April 4 to Friday, April 8 popped up on TV Guide.
Obviously, this did not pan out as no "Steven Universe" season 4 episodes were aired on the same date. With that said, it would appear that the Nov. 7 may simply be placeholder altogether.
In related news, as the wait for the return of "Steven Universe" season 4 continues, more speculations arise with regards to a possible new fusion between Lapis and Peridot.
As "Steven Universe" fans know very well, it takes closeness between two gems to be able to fuse. YouTube user RocketBot argues that the two have become really good friends after spending time together at the barn.
It is also speculated that "Adventure Time" voice actress Ashly Burch, whose inclusion in "Steven Universe" season 4 was confirmed, will voice the Lapis and Peridot fusion.
However, there is no confirmation as to who Burch will really play so fans will just have to stick around and see.
