Star Wars: Episode VIII' news, update, rumors, spoilers: Rey's portrait may have proven her Skywalker parentage

The real parentage of Rey is a big mystery to "Star Wars" fans, and many people are expecting that the next installment of the "Star Wars" film franchise will finally explain how the new heroine got her Jedi powers and to confirm a long-standing rumor about his real father.
Even since "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens" was released last December, there have been speculations that people already know who Rey's father is. It cannot be denied that the character in the film series most probably to be her father is none other than Luke Skywalker. Fortunately for the fans, they may no longer have to wait for Episode VIII to get another scoop about Rey's Skywalker parentage. It appears that a Disney-licensed artist has made a masterpiece portrait of Rey that would confirm the latter's connection with Anakin Skywalker's only son.
The painter recognized by the Disney Studio named Rodel Gonzalez is based in the Philippines, and his new painting of Rey is currently on exhibit in his country. As reported by Yuga Tech, Gonzales put his latest "Star Wars" artwork for sale at around $2,500. Aside from the painting's expensive cost, the title of Rey's portrait captured the interest of many fans. It was titled as "Rey Skywalker," thus giving the public more reason to believe that Rey actually came from the line of Skywalker Jedi knights.
There is also one big reason to believe in Gonzalez' work since he is licensed by Disney and Lucas Films. Therefore, there is a possibility that the Filipino artist has an idea about what is going to happen next in the future installments. However, it is still not confirmed if Gonzalez did unveil Rey's real identity or if he just randomly thought of a title without any knowledge of the future films' script. Nevertheless, more questions will be answered in December 2017 as "Star Wars Episode VIII" hits the theaters worldwide.
