'Star Wars: Battlefront' latest news 2016: EA giving away free credits to players

"Star Wars: Battlefront" has recently released its first major downloadable content pack named the "Outer Rim." Electronic Arts, the game developer company behind the popular Star Wars-based shooter game, has announced that in celebration to the successful launching of the first ever DLC of "Battlefront," they will be giving away free credits to those who will log in and play the game in the weekend. The free credits will be given even though the player has still not acquired the "Outer Rim" DLC yet.
According to a report from the Game Informer website, Electronic Arts will be giving away a total of 5,000 free in-game credits for those who will be accessing "Star Wars: Battlefront" this weekend. The free credits do not entail any hidden additional payment subscriptions or forced actions to buy the new DLC.
The only way to claim the free credit giveaways is to have a legally-acquired copy of "Star Wars: Battlefront" and load the game. After loading, the free credits can be claimed for a number of uses such as buying new weapons, unlocking expensive characters and upgrading the player's item stash.
The event of giving away free credits by EA follows the release of "Outer Rim" DLC which was made available only to season pass holders on March 22. EA and Electronic Arts Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment (EA DICE) are planning to make "Outer Rim" available for all with a target date of April 5.
The "Outer Rim" DLC introduces new heroes such as Nien Nunb and Greedo, as well as new maps to be unveiled by the players on Sullust that will feature Jabba the Hut's Palace.
Upon the release "Outer Rim" DLC, there were reports of game bugs and issues from those who have first owned the content pack. The concerns were all addressed to EA, hoping that the said bugs would be fixed. As reported by PC Gamer, the first bug to be fixed was the automatic level up of some players to level 60 without any experience gained.
Other bugs reported by gamers include the credits not showing to be rewarded in-game, players unable to get past level 50, freezing during Hutt Contract Challenge progression, and weapons unable to unlock, among others.
