Sony Xperia Z6 release date, specs rumors: Flagship smartphone release in October?

Rumors have been circulating online that Sony is preparing to release a new smartphone this year. According to reports, it will be the much-anticipated Sony Xperia Z6, which will be launched at the Internationale Funkausstellung or IFA on Sept. 2 in Berlin, Germany.
Tech observers notice that Sony normally releases big devices at the event in Germany. They believe that the company will do the same with Sony Xperia Z6 and make a major announcement there. Rumor has it that following the announcement is the big release of the device in October. Many fans were disappointed when Sony failed to launch the device during the Mobile World Congress or MWC last February in Barcelona, Spain.
Although, Sony has yet to make an official statement with regard to the development of its flagship smartphone, talks about its possible specs have already hit the rumor mill.
According to BGR, the Sony Xperia Z6 will carry a 5.2-inch IPS WQHD screen, along with a 2560 x 1440 pixels display resolution. The smartphone will also sport impressive specs under the hood, headed by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, along with 4 GB of RAM, which should be enough for people who like to multitask. It will also run on a pre-installed Android Marshmallow operating system.
The smartphone will also have an expandable storage capacity of up to 512 GB. No details have been provided yet regarding the device's on-board storage capacity. The Sony Xperia Z6 is also expected to boast the Adreno 530 GPU for better graphics technology. It will also house a 23-MP rear snapper and a 2900 mAh battery.
Sony is expected to release the device this year as they will try to compete with other major players such as Apple and Samsung, which are planning to release other big products before 2016 ends.
As of the moment, nothing is certain yet. Stay tuned for more updates.
