Sony Xperia Z3 Review: Features Epic Battery Life, iPhone 6 Wins in Camera for Low-Light

As a flagship phone from Sony, the Xperia Z3 is very much like the previous installment the Z2 but it comes with a significantly better battery life. However, it is being launched a mere 6 months after the Z2 hit the market, and so don't be surprised if you find the Z3 has a lot in common with the Z2.
Engadget notes that among the pros of the Xperia Z3 is its long lasting battery, high quality finish and camera. It features a 2.5GHz quad-core processor which is faster than the 2.3GHz which is present in the Z2. However, Sony decided to keep the Snapdragon 801 chip but has switched to the MSM8974AB. The standout is of the course the 20.7-megapixel camera with a wider 25mm lens, while the OS is the Android 4.4 KitKat. There is also 16GB of onboard storage and 3GB of RAM.
As for the design Engadget notes that the matte finish of the metal around the edges give the phone a premium look and feel. The Z3 weighs in at 152 grams and Engadget reports it can be kept submerged in 1.5 meters of water for half an hour.
ABC AU tested the phone underwater, noting that the phone kept registering that the headphone was plugged in as it is not water resistant. But the phone was able to operate underwater and take pictures, something that ABC AU noted other phones cannot do. Also, ABC AU used the phone to take low light pictures and mentions that the iPhone 6 is better in such situations.
Battery life in the Sony Xperia Z3 in one word is "epic". Engadget describes how the phone's battery can last for a full two days in spite of constant use. The battery also lasted for over 12 hours during a video looping test, which also included Wi-Fi being kept on and screen brightness at 50%.
