'Sleepy Hollow' season 4 spoilers, casting news: 'Lost' alum joins cast as new Big Bad, 'True Blood' actress to guest star as female lead

After losing his partner Abbie Mills, Ichabod Crane will meet a new enemy when "Sleepy Hollows" returns for its much-awaited fourth season next year.
Veteran actor Jeremy Davies has been tapped to portray the next season's villain, TV Line reports. He will portray the recurring role of Malcolm Dreyfuss, an "eccentric and outspoken tech mogul" who became a billionaire before even turning 30. Because of the wealth and power he possesses, Malcolm is seeking for "other worlds to conquer." He is considered to be Ichabod's complete opposite in many ways.
Aside from ABC's "Lost," Davies' acting credits include NBC's "Hannibal' and Fox's "Lucifer." He is also set to star in NBC's revival of "Twin Peaks."
Another newcomer joining the supernatural series is "True Blood" actress Janina Gavankar. She will portray the new quasi-female lead named Diana, a Secret Service agent who will work closely with Ichabod. Gavankar's stint is only for a guest-starring role and based on her official character description, she is a former military officer and a single mom to one young daughter. Currently working for Homeland Security as a Special Agent, Diana is described to have a "tough, take-charge personality, punctuated by a wry sense of humor."
Despite having an intimidating personality, her nurturing side emerges when her little daughter is around. Her lack of belief in the supernatural and different approach to work causes friction with Ichabod at first, particularly whenever they are on a mission. When her partner dies in the line of duty, she and Ichabod will find a common ground through their loss.
Further details about the upcoming season's plot are still under wraps, but it has been previously confirmed that filming will be moved from New York to Washington D.C.
"Sleepy Hollow" season 4 is expected to premiere on 2017.
