"Sister Wives" has been one of the most controversial reality shows because it centers on polygamy, and rumor has it that patriarch Kody Brown is currently looking for two more wives to add to his growing family.

As noted by spoiler reports, the Brown patriarch is allegedly fighting to keep the show on air and plans to add two more wives for the upcoming season. TLC, however, fears that additional wives are too much for viewers and it could lead to increased negative feedback instead of a ratings boost. Rumor has it that the network may even decide to cancel the show altogether if Kody insists on his idea.

Meanwhile, it is also believed that Kody and his four wives Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn are no longer getting along. Reports point out that the Brown family members are not in good terms and the conflict may have started after Meri's involvement in a catfishing scandal. After Kody and Meri got legally divorced in 2014 so he could marry his second wife Robyn, Meri started to feel indifferent about her relationship with Kody. Season 7 featured Meri having an online affair with a woman pretending to be a man, causing a huge shakeup in the family. The Browns eventually discussed the issue to clear everything up but it seems that their problems are still far from being resolved.

Other reports claim that the reason why "Sister Wives" is still not renewed is that Kody does not want his life to be under the spotlight anymore. Aside from being polygamous, Kody faced a lot of negative comments because of the way he handles things as the head of the household. There are speculations that he can no longer keep his family together after the events in season 7, leading the show on the brink of cancellation.

TLC has yet to announce an official premiere date for "Sister Wives" season 8.
