'Sister Wives' season 7 spoilers: Premiere date set for May, the Browns go to therapy

After months of hiatus, "Sister Wives" is confirmed to return to TV screens in May. Previously, there were speculations about the show being axed by TLC following allegations of it being scripted. Christine's aunt said in an interview that the show was faked for the sake of garnering high ratings. However, the network recently confirmed that a seventh season is in order for the reality series.
The long-running program will pick up on the polygamous family as they try to work out their issues, specifically after Meri got involved in a catfishing scandal. According to a report by International Business Times, season 6 featured Meri as she opened up to her husband Kody and her fellow sister about her online relationship. Her confession shook the family, because the man she was having an emotional involvement with turned out to be a woman who was just pretending. Season 7 will show the Browns as they face family problems together, and their effort to move forward from trials by going through therapy.
Furthermore, Meri will also have to address her issues with daughter Mariah, since the latter mentioned that their relationship is not going well. "My mom and I aren't on super great terms right now," Mariah said in the promo clip. Design & Trend noted that the two will have a scene dedicated to themselves, as Meri was shown in the teaser saying, "I just kinda wanted to see how you were and see how we were." On the other hand, Mariah admitted that she was not ready to give a reply to her mother. Meanwhile, the upcoming season will put the spotlight on the birth of Robyn and Kody's daughter Ariella Mae, along with Christine's excitement over her daughter Maddie's arrival.
"Sister Wives" season 7 airs Sunday, May 8 at 8:00 pm EDT on TLC.
