"Sister Wives" is already in its seventh season, which is why Kody Brown, head of the polyamorous Brown family, find it hard to believe that some people are still prejudiced against polygamy. After all, he and his four wives, together with their 18 (as of latest count) children, have shared their story to the public for the past six years or so.

In Sunday's episode, the ninth for the season, titled "Hawaiian Vacation Erupts," Kody talks about the lack of sympathy he experienced and the criticisms he received after publicly admitting that he was a polygamist.

Design & Trend said Kody was surprised that many people still scoff at the idea of polygamy even as his family's reality show, which airs on TLC, practically shares to the public what a polygamous marriage arrangement is like.

Apparently, Kody thought by sharing their lives on the small screen, people would be more open-minded and respectful of his domestic preference, but people have reacted otherwise.

His first wife, Meri, said that Kody has given them an out, that they can freely get out of the arrangement if they're not comfortable with it. However, according to Meri, she doesn't' want to be anywhere else especially during her darkest times.

This is probably why she's still desperately trying to make amends after her involvement in a catfishing scandal. Meri has been working hard to regain Kody's trust and confidence in light of what happened, although there are rumors that their relationship, which has spanned over 25 years, has been on the rocks even before the scandal happened.

Meri is also trying to mend fences with the rest of her sister wives, Janelle in particular. The two have a long-standing quarrel between them, something they wished to end by going through a therapy session together.

Nevertheless, spoilers for Sunday's episode hint that the therapy could have ended in shambles causing a ripple effect to the family's Hawaii vacation. It appears that the vacation started off on the wrong foot, and viewers will get treated to an inside look inside the chaotic getaway in episode 9.

"Sister Wives" season 7 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on TLC.
