'Sister Wives' season 7: Brown family discuss Meri's catfishing scandal, Kody searching for new wife?
Popular reality TV series "Sister Wives" recently had a tell-all special wrap up its seventh season, and a lot of revelations were shared by the members of the polygamous Brown family.
One of the highlights of the episode is when they discussed Meri's controversial catfishing scandal which led to an "emotional gap" between her and Kody. As fans know, Meri got into an online relationship with a person who went by the fake name "Sam Cooper." She later on found out that Sam's account was fake and a female named Jackie Overton has been tricking her all along. However, Kody refuses to believe that it was an act of infidelity and Meri was just making friends. "I think that she was in a place where she was having a friendship.... Meri had never met this person.... All it is is talking.... I don't see it as an emotional affair," he said (via Us Magazine).
Meri also revealed that aside from being catfished, she was also being blackmailed by Overton. Meri explained that there were instances where Overton would ask her to call and leave numerous voice messages. If Meri did not do what Overton asked, she threatened to go public about Meri and Sam's alleged affair.
Mariah, Meri's daughter, admitted that she is aware of her mother's actions and even attempted to stop it. "From the very beginning I knew that was happening.... I tried to tell her and I tried to make it not happen and she just did it anyway.... She didn't listen to me," The 21-year-old stated. In the end, Kody expressed his continuous support for his wife after the huge obstacle in their relationship. "They don't exist outside of our own minds. If we ignore them, they go away," Kody said, referring to the catfisher.
TLC has yet to announce if they will pick up "Sister Wives" for another season, but Kody is reportedly looking for a fifth wife to entice producers fo renew the series.
