The sister of the suspect of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings has reportedly been arrested in New York City for threatening to bomb a woman who previously had a romantic relationship with her boyfriend.

23-year-old Ailina Tsarnaeva of North Bergen, New Jersey reportedly turned herself in to police on Wednesday after she had allegedly phoned a Harlem woman and threatened her with a bomb.

Tsarnaeva was reportedly attempting to defend her boyfriend, George Briones, who is currently in a bitter custody battle over three children with the Harlem woman.

"Leave us alone. I know people who can put a bomb on you," Tsarnaeva allegedly told the Harlem woman.

Tsarnaeva is reportedly facing a charge of aggravated harassment and has been released by police, although she is expected to return to court on September 30. According to the Associated Press, Tsarnaeva is also required to meet with officers regarding a 2010 counterfeit investigation.

The 23-year-old mother of two is also the sister of Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the two men suspected of bringing pressure cooker bombs to the 2013 Boston Marathon in Massachusetts, killing three spectators and injuring 264 at the scene.

While Dzhokhar was later arrested following a police manhunt that shut down Boston, Tamerlan was killed in a shootout with police. The two brothers had killed an MIT police officer and carjacked an SUV before engaging in gunfire with police in the Boston suburb of Watertown.

Although Tamerlan was shot by police, his brother was found hiding in a parked boat in the backyard of a Watertown home. Dzhokhar had been previously injured by police gunfire and was taken into custody and is being charged with 30 counts, including four for murder.
