'Silicon Valley' season 3 finale spoilers and updates: Pied Piper's future hangs in the balance; Richard, team work to resolve complications

The third season of HBO comedy "Silicon Valley" will come to a close this coming Sunday, with the Pied Piper's future hanging in the balance.
In the previous episode titled "Daily Active Users," Richard and the rest of the group faced complications in their newly-released platform after non-tech users were unsatisfied with their work. Jarred made a desperate move to keep Richard motivated but it's clearly not a long-term solution. As the season moves forward to the finale, the Pied Piper team may be facing bigger problems as things take a turn for the worst.
To give fans an idea of what's to come, the summary for the season 3 finale titled "The Uptick" reads:
"With Pied Piper's future in question, Erlich's publicity success leaves Richard in a moral quandary just as Dinesh's video-chat app starts to pick up speed. While Laurie prepares to jump ship, Gavin's comeback at Hooli is threatened by his displays of grandeur."
The promo clip suggests that Pied Piper will be facing a huge complication. It remains to be seen how the team will resolve it, but it seems like not everyone agrees on Richard's plan. "Richard, it's wrong," Jarred said in the first moments of the video. The root cause of their problem might be the platform's decreasing number of daily active users, leading Richard to do everything he can to straighten things up.
On another note, showrunner Alec Berg recently inked a two-year overall deal with HBO, as learned exclusively by Variety. Aside from being head of "Silicon Valley," Berg will have more work to do for the network as his new comedy project "Barry" was given a season order. Berg co-created the comedy with Bill Hader, and it is expected to premiere in 2018.
