'Shameless' season 7 spoilers: Frank keeps his home in episode 5; EP speaks on show's new trans storyline

Frank (William H. Macy) no longer has to worry about his new family's home in the upcoming episode of Showtime's hit family dramedy "Shameless" season 7.
Titled "Own Your Sh*t," next week's episode will see things start to fall into place for some members of the fractured Gallagher family. According to the official synopsis for episode 5, Frank is relieved after learning that his new family will no longer need to find another place to stay. It turns out that a billionaire philanthropist has bought the homeless shelter, and he and his clan can continue living there. Meanwhile, a Tinder hookup turns unexpectedly well for Fiona (Emmy Rossum) who gets some smart financial advice from her date. Ian (Cameron Monaghan), on the other hand, continues to struggle with his true feelings for Trevor (guest star Elliot Fletcher).
In the previous episode directed by Rossum, Ian began seeing a new guy named Trevor, but he wasn't aware that he's transgender when they first met. Upon discovering the truth, Ian freaked out and drunkenly asked a lot of questions at the bar they're at, taking viewers back to a moment in season 1 when Ian first came out.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, executive producer Nancy Pimental revealed that as Ian and Trevor's relationship matures throughout the season, the writers are determined to "get everything right." Although the fate of this new relationship remains to be seen, Ian's family will certainly support him no matter what happens, particularly his older brother Lip (Jeremy Allen White).
"Lip's always had a real curiosity to try and figure out how people work," White said in the interview. "Way back in the pilot when Lip finds out Ian is gay, he asks him the strangest questions... The way that Lip approaches Trevor and Ian's relationship is very similar where he's just trying to make sense of it. Lip trusts Ian and if Ian wants something or someone, then I don't think that Lip would ever try to stop him."
