'Shameless' season 7 episode 9 spoilers: Familiar Gallagher returns; Lip tries to hide his relapsing alcoholism

A familiar face returns in the upcoming episode of the hit Showtime dramedy "Shameless" season 7.

Titled "Ouroboros," next week's episode will see the return of Monica. According to the official synopsis for episode 9, Monica's (Chloe Webb) first task when she returns is to help Debbie (Emma Kenney) get Franny back. Meanwhile, Frank (William H. Macy) makes it an effort to avoid her. Lip (Jeremy Allen White) is determined to hide his relapsing alcoholism, while Fiona's (Emmy Rossum) laundromat gets a bad review from an unsatisfied customer.

In the latest promo clip released by Showtime, Monica tries to take charge and assures her sister Debbie that they will get her baby back. At some point in the video, Monica breaks the windows of a house and yells "You have no legal right to get Franny," while Debbie stands there in shock. Meanwhile, Kev (Steve Howey), Vee (Shanola Hampton) and Svetlana (Isidora Goreshter) consult a therapist in an effort to work out their issues with each other.

Aside from alcoholism, Lip has continuously dealt with his issues with women. However, the arrival of his new love interest Sierra (Ruby Modine) changes things and makes life a bit more positive for him. In a recent interview with InStyle, Modine explained how the two characters' physical attraction blossomed into something more.

"I think Lip likes Sierra because she's one of the first people he's been around that truly has a good attitude," Modine said. "She knows how to stand up for herself, and even though she has a lot going on, she's handling it pretty well."

Modine also admitted that she has been a fan of the show since its debut. Having followed Lip's struggles in his romantic life, the actress hopes that this time's the charm for the eldest Gallagher son. "I just think that they're really sweet together," Modine added. "There's an ease to them that's very refreshing and nice."

"Shameless" season 7 airs every Sunday night at 9 p.m. ET on Showtime.
