Katherine McNamara, who portrays Clary Fray in Freeform's TV adaptation of "Mortal Instruments," said that the red-headed Shadowhunter will change in the second season of the show.

In an interview with VVV magazine, McNamara revealed that the first season was only a fraction of Clary's journey. In the forthcoming season, Clary will have to deal with Jace Wayland (Dominic Sherwood) being her brother. The previous season revealed that Jace was associated with baddie Valentine Morgenstern (Alan van Sprang). Clary will have to save her brother from the clutches of the antagonist.

"The major journey for Clary this season is going to be her solidifying her place in the shadow world as she learns to use her unique gifts and mundane upbringing to become a new kind of Shadowhunter," McNamara told the news outlet.

Although the character will be honing her skills as a Shadowhunter, how she was raised as a mundane will ultimately make her a better warrior.

Fans can catch the first footage of "Shadowhunter" season 2 at the 2016 New York Comic Con. The event will be held from Oct. 6 to 9. Freeform announced that the trailer will be unveiled on the show's panel at NYCC on Saturday, Oct. 8. Fans can catch the panel from 12 to 1 p.m. at Hammerstein Ballroom. The autograph signing will be held on the same day from 4:30 to 5:30 pm at Table 20 in Hall 1-B.

As revealed in the synopsis, the Shadow World will be in utter chaos when Valentine and The Circle grow and strengthen their forces. The young Shadowhunters will be disappointed by The Clave and their reaction to the events. In the second season, unlikely acquaintances will be made, relationships will be tested, and loyalties will be questioned.

The second season of "Shadowhunters" is expected to return to Freeform in January next year.
