'Shades of Blue' season 2 news update: Jennifer Lopez stays strong amid heartbreak; Lopez & co-star Ray Liotta spotted filming in Brooklyn

Det. Harlee Santos (Jennifer Lopez) is back in action, and she will soon return to the small screen when "Shades of Blue" premieres its second season. Production for the series is currently in full swing, with Lopez and co-star Ray Liotta recently spotted filming scenes in New York.
The "Ain't Your Mama" singer was seen strutting her stuff while on set in Brooklyn's Prospect Park. According to Just Jared Jr., Lopez spent the whole day filming for new episodes. Liotta also shared a behind-the-scenes photo of him with Lopez as they rehearsed lines. "@JLo and I working on a scene in Prospect Park in Brooklyn. I love working with her. Not only is she beautiful," he captioned the image.
Meanwhile, Lopez is staying strong after her break-up with her longtime boyfriend, Beau Casper Smart. The 47-year-old performer posted a photo of her via Instagram just two days after People magazine's source confirmed that she and Smart called it quits. Donning Harlee's signature black heels and pantsuit, Lopez stood next to an artwork painted into a sidewalk which reads: "Protect Yo Heart."
Lopez had quite a busy summer this year. Aside from filming her hit NBC drama "Shades of Blue" in New York City, she is also performing at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Earlier last month, Lopez was seen hanging out with Smart backstage at her "All I Have" show in Las Vegas. A week after the event, the 29-year-old- choreographer told his followers via Instagram that he was going to take a break from social media. Lopez then returned to the Big Apple to continue working on her co-produced program.
"Shades of Blue" season 2 is expected to premiere next year on NBC, but the network has yet to announce a definitive launch date.
