'Sense8' season 2 spoilers, plot news: Cast head to Chicago to film episode 2, Jamie Clayton hints action-packed season ahead

"Sense8" quickly gained popularity among viewers when it first aired in Netflix last year, but it's only a matter of months before the hit science fiction drama returns to the small screen for its sophomore season.

Season 2 will focus on the sensates in their attempt to end Whispers once and for all. Along with their fight, they must also deal with personal issues and complicated relationships. With the group stronger than ever, it seems that Whispers will finally be gone for good. In a span of seven months, filming for the second season already brought the cast and crew to various places all over the world including Mexico City; Seoul, South Korea; Mumbai, India, and Reykjavik, Iceland. Production for the new season is currently in full swing and the cast and crew recently headed to Chicago to shoot some scenes. The second episode will see Nomi and Amanita go to the University of Chicago to meet with a professor and gather valuable information they need.

In an interview with Chicago Sun Times, some of the cast members teased what lies ahead for the upcoming season."It's fast, it's mad, it's amazing, it's sexy, it's raw," actress Jamie Clayton said. "Oh my god, it's so many things. There's so much action." The rest of the cast could not give away any clues about the plot, but they mentioned how the sensates will have new abilities. Aside from traveling between one another telepathically, they can also explore the past and the present through sensates from earlier eras.

Newcomer Toby Onwumere will take the place of Aml Ameen for the role of Capheus and he shared his excitement over portraying the character. "It was kind of like 'Are you up for the task? OK, great, because we gotta go!'" the actor said, laughing. "I have the benefit of a season of information. It's a great research packet to have the whole first season there. I'm going to do my version of Capheus in season two."
