'Sense8' Season 2 rumors, updates: Premiere might be delayed, Sensate member goes dark
It's been a while since the hit science fiction drama series "Sense8" premiered on Netflix with all episodes available for streaming. Those people who wanted to have a worthwhile binge-watching experience were easily hooked to this series, and the question now is when the show will return for a second season. Initial reports are going for a June release for "Sense8" season 2 this year, although that can still be delayed considering the preparations being done.
For those who have watched the complete episodes of "Sense8" on Netflix, it will be quite easy to expect that there is going to be a follow-up season as the first chapter of the series ended with a cliffhanger. Unless the producers decided to leave it at that, the viewers think that there is more to explore in the story and another season will be needed to tie all the loose ends. Netflix does not include "Sense8" in the list of renewed shows which sparked the speculation that the show was cancelled. However, as reported by Crossmap, a second season was already confirmed.
In a statement posted on a Reddit forum, "Sense8" writer Bryce Olin revealed that the production team is targeting season 2 to be released in June, but he also stated that their aim might be coming in "too ambitious."
"I really hope Netflix can release 'Sense8' Season 2 in June, but simple math suggests we really shouldn't 'expect' to see Season 2 until much later in the summer or fall of 2016," he said.
There is also an unconfirmed report from the Nextflix Life website that "sense8" Season 2 has already started production in March, although that would mean that the second season might be released a little later this year as Season 1 took almost a year to be finished.
The story of "Sense8" revolves around the lives of eight individuals who suddenly found themselves deeply connected to each because of an unexplained phenomenon. This is called a sensate where people coming from different distant places become emotionally and mentally linked.
In the same Crossmap report, the apparent story for season 2 includes the love triangle of Rahan (played by Purab Kohli), Kala (played by Tina Desai) and Wolfgang (played by Max Riemelt), with Rajan reportedly taking up a more villainous role.
