'Sense8' season 2 release date, cast rumors: Lead actor Aml Ameen replaced by Toby Onwumere due to on-set rift
Netflix's "Sense8" will be a bit different next season, after a familiar face has been confirmed to exit from the show. Lead actor Aml Ameen plays the role of Capheus, but he will be replaced by Toby Onwumere for season 2.

According to Deadline, Ameen left "abruptly," as Onwumere takes his place. The reason behind his sudden departure is still unclear, but the outlet's sources state that Ameen had an on-set rift with executive producer Lana Wachowski. Their conflict reportedly worsened following a table read in Berlin, and it further escalated on set while the show is filming in India. One of the speculated reasons for the conflict also include "creative differences."
Actress Jamie Clayton added more fuel to the fire when she took her excitement to her Twitter account after finding out that the British actor has left the show. "HEY SENSIES!! CHECK OUT THIS EXCITING NEWS!!" she posted, including a link to Deadline's report.
When a fan asked if the immediate recast will hurt anything in the series, the actress replied: "IT WON'T! THE WRITING & CHARACTER CAN SHINE AS THEY WERE MEANT TO!"
There is really a lot to unpack in the issue, specially after Clayton's recent posts. However, neither Wachowski nor Ameen has given an official statement regarding the changes in the show.
The plot follows the lives of eight strangers around the world. After a tragic death, they all find themselves connected to each other both emotionally and mentally.
Capheus is one of the main characters, and he is a young Kenyan man. He resides in Nairobi, where he works hard to provide for his mother who has AIDS. As noted by various cast members in their social media accounts, filming recently moved from India to Italy.
As of now, Netflix has yet to announce a release date window for "Sense8" season 2. Additionally, it remains unclear if Ameen's scenes will be reshot.
