'Secrets and Lies' season 2 spoilers, update: Kate's secrets slowly coming out; series cancelled?

"Secrets and Lies" season 2 will be airing its episode 5 this weekend already and spoilers said that more revelations will be coming.

According to reports, Detective Cornell (Juliette Lewis) is at risk of losing her job because of her latest discovery. In episode 4, she learned that Danny (Kenny Johnson) is actually a detective too. The events also led Eric (Michael Ealy) to investigate further on the murder of his wife Kate (Jordana Brewster).

Episode 5 will get more intense as Eric will be listening to Detective Cornell's leads. She has new reports on Kate's whereabouts before she died. Eric will be confused and will start doubting everyone around him. Spoilers also revealed that Eric will find out that his wife withdrew $100,000 from his savings account.

Moreover, he will learn that Kate had some fishy business in a private DNA laboratory. This was known after Kate's credit card bill showed her transaction there. The ABC synopsis also detailed that Eric is done being nice with Neil (Eric Winter). After he discovered that Neil mingled with a hooker the night Kate was murdered and his bank statement showing his embezzling agendas, Eric will confront his friend.

Spoilers also suggested that Eric and Patrick (Charlie Barnett) will be going to see someone from Kate's past. They are determined to seek answers and this person from the past will be giving them vital information. Nothing is known about the secret but it may have something to do with Liam (Graham Phillips).

In other news, the mystery anthology series is rumored to get the axe from ABC. Reports said that the ratings of the show, which premiered in 2014, have drastically declined. According to TV Series Finale, the show only garnered a 0.96 rating in the second season premiere, which is a 37.25 percent drop from the average rating in the first season.

The poor ratings alone could be the reason for the show's cancellation. However, nothing is confirmed yet so loyal followers of the show will have to watch out for updates to see if the series is moving forward or saying goodbye.

ABC's "Secrets and Lies" season 2 episode 5 will air on Sunday, Oct. 30, at 9 p.m. EDT.
