'Secrets and Lies' season 2 spoilers: Det. Cornell interrrogates Eric; Eric and Amanda's mother to be introduced

Detective Cornell (Juliette Lewis) begins to shift her focus on Eric (Michael Ealy) as her investigation of Kate's (Jordana Brewster) murder begins in Earnest in the upcoming second episode of ABC's mystery drama "Secrets and Lies" season 2.
Titled "The Husband," the next episode will see Eric become a main suspect in his wife's murder. According to the official synopsis,Eric's surprising past transgressions will lead Detective Cornell to interrogate him unveiling a huge secret of Kate. Determined to prove that his relationship with Kate was not just one huge lie, Eric seeks help from Amanda (Mekia Cox) as they search for answers.
Although Detective Cornell has strong objections, Eric insists on bringing his own new findings to help solve the case. In a surprising turn of events, Eric will see one of his worst nightmares come to reality when his ex-girlfriend talks to Cornell at the police station - making his hopes of redirecting her investigation immediately fade.
Series creator Barbie Kligman recently caught up with Zap2it, and she shared interesting teasers on what fans should expect in the coming episodes. According to her, everybody is a suspect, and almost all the characters are hiding secrets of their own. "Here's the honest truth: viewers should be suspicious of everyone," she hinted. "That's what I love about this... There is no one who is not hiding something and that includes the victim."
On another note, the season 2 premiere made it seem Eric and Amanda's mother is already deceased, before later revealing that she is actually not. While Kligman won't say exactly what she's up to, the creator teased that their mother will enter the picture very soon. "I can't tell you [where she is], but I can tell you in episode 3, it is revealed where she is," she continued. "We do meet her in the latter portion of the season."
The second season of "Secrets and Lies" airs every Sunday night at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
