Second Planned Parenthood Video Shows Doctor Discussing 'Costs' Associated With Fetal Tissue
Planned Parenthood is under fire again this week following the release of a second secretly-filmed video that shows another Planned Parenthood executive discussing the costs associated with the procurement of aborted fetal tissue.
The video, the second to be released in the past few weeks by the Center for Medical Progress, shows Dr. Mary Gatter, who serves as Planned Parenthoood's Medical Director for the Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley areas, discussing the costs associated with the donation of fetal tissue.
Although Gatter discusses the expenses that accompany the transfer of fetal tissue to scientists for research in the video, she clarifies that "We're not in it for the money."
"We don't want to be in the position of being accused of selling tissue and stuff like that," she says. "On the other hand, there are costs associated with the use of our space, and all that kind of stuff."
At one point in the video, when discussing the potential costs associated with one specimen of fetal tissue, Gatter says: "It's been years since I've talked about compensation, so let me find out what others are getting, and if it's in the ballpark then that's fine."
"And if it's still low, then we can bump it up — I want a Lamborghini," she adds jokingly.
The video has gained criticism as it is the second video in recent weeks that shows Planned Parenthood executives discussing the costs that accompany the donation of aborted fetal tissue.
Critics of the abortion provider argue that the videos prove the organization is selling fetal parts for profit, while others argue that the executives shown in the videos are simply discussing the expenses that accompany the removal and processing of the fetal tissue, including transportation and preservation costs.
The video released last week by the Center for Medical Progress group showed Planned Parenthood's senior director of medical services Deborah Nucatola discussing the prices associated with aborted fetal tissue.
According to Fox News, Center for Medical Progress Project Lead David has said that his activist group has "at least 12, really solid videos" similar to the two that were just released.
"So, we'll be doing this for the foreseeable future," Daleiden said.
