'Scream Queens' season 2 air date, spoilers news: New behind-the-scenes sneak peak released; Chanels return as medical students

The Chanels are all set to strut their stuff as medical students in the upcoming second season of Fox's "Scream Queens."
The network recently released behind-the-scenes look at season 2, which hints an exciting storyline up ahead for fans. The short promo clip features interviews with the cast members, including newcomers John Stamos and Taylor Lautner as resident doctors Brock Holt and Cassidy Cascade, respectively. "If you liked the first season, you're gonna love the second because it's funnier, it's scarier, we're just pushing more boundaries," "Twilight" star Lautner noted. Roberts previously said in an interview that the actors will portray love interests for two of the female leads.
As seen in the video, season 1 returnees include Roberts, Lea Michele, Jamie Lee Curtis, Keke Palmer and Abigail Breslin. From being set in a sorority house, season 2 will see the young ladies do their time as medical students in a hospital headed by Dean Cathy Munsch (Curtis). The three Chanels (Roberts, Lourd, Breslin) were first sentenced to life in a mental asylum after being framed for multiple murders, but the upcoming season will see them trade their stylish clothes for ordinary scrubs in their bid to become doctors.
"It's going to be a crazy ride this year," Roberts teased. Curtis also called the show "wacky, bitingly funny and smart" in the clip.
Meanwhile, Breslin looked excited when she was spotted back on set in Los Angeles last Thursday. The actress wore a basic white top emblazoned with the word "dope," a miniskirt and simple flip flops. Holding a drink and a pack of cigarettes, she was seen chatting with her friends while waiting for her take.
Recently-announced guest stars for season 2 include Cecily Strong and former Saturday Night Live star Cheri Oteri.
Tune in to the season 2 premiere of "Scream Queens" on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 9 p.m. EST on Fox.
