'Scorpion' season 3 spoilers, plot news: EP weighs in on Walter and Paige's relationship status, premiere title hints huge war for Team Scorpion

"Scorpion" wrapped up its sophomore run with a series of heartbreaks for some of the characters, with Happy turning down Toby's proposal and Walter regretting his decision to let Paige go on a trip with another man.
Details about the upcoming season's storyline are still under wraps but according to executive producer Nick Wootton, Toby's failed proposal will affect the others in some way. Team Scorpion's members are known to use their logical thinking skills when solving a variety of problems in the field, but this time, their emotions might get in the way of their decisions.
"They're going to be affected very much so," Wootton told TV Line. "This is certainly going to reverberate through the entire team. It's our kicking-off point for the next season, for the emotional stories. How is this going to play out? Who is she married to? How did that happen? Where is that person? All of these things are going to be fodder for next season."
In terms of Walter and Paige's relationship status after the Walter decided to run after her, co-executive producer Nick Santora warns fans not to get their hopes up too much for "Waige." "We can't promise that in the first episode of next season, they're going to be holding hands and running through a valley of golden flowers together," he explained. "But at the same time, the Waige relationship will always be there. Even if it's bubbling under the surface, even if they have relationships with other people, it's always there."
"Civil War" will be the title of the season 3 premiere and it might be in reference to a huge problem which befalls Team Scorpion.
