The sophomore season of CBS action drama "Scorpion" left off with a lot of questions than answers, and viewers hope to see loose ends tied when the show returns for season 3.

The season 2 finale saw Toby (Eddie Kaye Thomas) finally propose to his girlfriend Happy (Jadyn Wong), but it did not go according to plan. Just when viewers thought Toby went through enough difficulties, Happy turned down the marriage proposal and quickly left the headquarters without any explanation. It was then revealed that she is still married to someone else, making the situation even more complicated.

Thomas recently caught up with Entertainment Weekly where he gave some hints about the show's return, and where the story picks up in the next season. "I'm excited for the season 3 premiere to see how the [fallout] of the season finale is played out amongst the team because what happened with Toby and Happy has big ramifications," he said.

Meanwhile, Walter also had his own share of heartbreak in the season 2 finale. He finally mustered up the courage to admit his true feelings for Paige, but he was too late because she was already on her way to a vacation with Tim.

Will Walter ever have a chance with Paige, or will she choose Tim instead? Thomas hinted that the forthcoming season will explore the possible romance between Walter and Paige. "After the very last scene of the finale, as much as that has answered things, it's going to make the season premiere that much more exciting," the actor explained. "So many questions and wants and needs for Walter and Paige and Happy and Toby are being opened up, and it's really exciting. I'm so grateful that we have clever writers who are listening to the fans and staying true to their original vision for the show."

The network has yet to announce a release date, but "Scorpion" season 3 is expected to arrive sometime in the Fall.
