Samsung Galaxy X release date, specs rumors: Foldable smartphone to arrive in 2017 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 830?

Following the release of Samsung's Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, tech freaks have shifted their focus on the next release coming from the company. Although there are several smartphones rumored to be released, one interesting device is the Samsung Galaxy X. Not much has been reported about this particular handset; however, it captures the interest of the fans. They are excited to know what is in store for them with this device, which is speculated to come out in 2017.
Fans and critics are saying that the Samsung Galaxy X will be a foldable smartphone. Apparently, the development of the device has already started and it is given a project code name, "Project Valley."
In a previous report by ET News, according to a reliable source, Samsung's development on foldable device with OLED display is going right on track. The company is positive that someday they will be able to build something worthy of distribution.
"Although mass-production cannot be concluded hastily since Samsung Electronics still has few other major tasks to complete, I've heard that Samsung Electronics had made a considerable amount of results in the time being," the source said according to ET News.
On his part, Samsung's Display director, Lee Chang-hoon said during a performance conference call in January 2016 that the company is pretty confident about the development.
"Development of Foldable OLED is taking place according to our plan," he said. "We are planning on mass-production and release of this product by discussing with our partners."
Meanwhile, some specs and features of the smartphone have also hit the rumor mill. There are already speculations suggesting that the foldable handset will run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 processor; however, it is not yet clear if the company will include a microSD card slot on the device. It is also said to support 4K display technology.
It is important that fans must wait for Samsung to provide specific details with regard to the development and release date of the Galaxy X.
