Rumors have a way of heightening the hype, and this seems to be true about Samsung's Galaxy S8. Many are saying the upcoming Samsung flagship will be one of the best 2017 smartphones. First, there was the disastrous rollout of the exploding Galaxy Note 7. Secondly, it will have to contend with the iPhone 7.

Starting off with the basics, the Galaxy S8 will reportedly feature a 5.5-screen display and 6 GB RAM with a 128 GB internal storage. It will then the Android Nougat operating system, a USB Type-C port and a dual lens camera feature similar to the iPhone 7. Still following the path of iPhone 7, the Galaxy S8 is expected to remove its 3.5mm headphone jack as well.

Acting on critical battery issues, the Galaxy S8 is expected to fix it, although how large its battery will be is still a matter of speculation. However, the market should expect to see a faster processor. There are strong rumors that it will be using an eye-sensing technology, enhanced Android Pay interface, foldable dual screen and a better functionality between phone and auto.

Reports hasten to add say that the Samsung variant will feature a10nm Exynos 8895 processor along with ARM's Mali-G71 for its graphics processing unit, designed to boost improvement on its power efficiency and mobile virtual reality platforms. Due to the increasing demand of 3D mobile graphics, Samsung Galaxy S8 will certainly be excellent for mobile gaming with this processor.

Exactly how the Samsung Galaxy S8 will look like still remains a mystery, but it will probably won't look like the S7, with its glass-and-metal combo.

It is unlikely that the next Samsung Galaxy phone will be unveiled before March 2017, though. Ever since the Samsung Galaxy S2 came out in 2011, Samsung's flagship phones have been unveiled in the weeks surrounding the Mobile World Congress show in Barcelona. So March 2017 will be a good month to watch out for the S8.
