Samsung Galaxy S8 release date, specs rumors: Samsung adding dedicated AI button to Galaxy S8

Following the massive Galaxy Note 7 exploding controversy this year, all eyes are on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8, which is expected to redeem the South Korean tech conglomerate.
According to Digital Trends, Samsung mobile communications vice president Lee Jae-yong said that the next variant of its flagship smartphone will "feature slick design and an improved camera, as well as an enhanced artificial intelligence service."
Indeed, the Wall Street Journal reports that Samsung may be planning on giving its virtual assistant a major upgrade. According to the outlet, the tech giant is contemplating a hardware reboot for its upcoming Galaxy smartphone that will add a new button specifically for its artificial intelligence feature.
Internal prototypes of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 reportedly reveal a button on one side of the smartphone that will be dedicated to its improved AI-powered virtual assistant, similar to Apple's Siri. However, the outlet's sources warn that these plans are not final and are likely to change.
Apart from this alleged new button, there are also reports that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will have a full-screen display that will cover 90 percent of the smartphone's front. The Next Web says that during the iMID Display Exhibition in October, Samsung mobile engineer Park Won-sang revealed this new design plan, saying, "Samsung Display would roll out a full-screen display whose display area ratio (a scale that measures space taken up by a display on the front part of a handset) reaches more than 90 percent next year."
The website also reports that the display panels will come in two sizes — 5.1 inches and 5.5 inches — the same as those of the current S7 and S7 Edge.
As for the Galaxy S8's possible release date, the Wall Street Journal says that Samsung could delay the smartphone's launch until after the Mobile World Congress in February 2017, marking a break in the Galaxy S line's standard launch schedule. Instead, the Samsung Galaxy S8 could reportedly debut in April.
