Samsung Galaxy S8 release date, news and specs rumors: next flagship entry to come with premium cover, multimedia dock

The jazzing up of Samsung Electronics' next flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy S8 continues not with its features and specifications. This time around, one of the South Korean firm's premium entries in the competition in 2017 will come with a set of surprising perks that can be toted alongside the device.

Samsung Galaxy S8, apart from its in-house add-ons, will reportedly be equipped with two new accessories. According to SamMobile, "We've now received information about the official accessories that the Galaxy S8 is going to be launched with. Aside from one new option, the upcoming flagship will more or less have the same accessories that were launched with the Galaxy S7 series earlier this year."

As such, these speculated accessories may include the traditional screen protector along with a protective cover for the forthcoming iteration. In addition, the device will be coming with a Clear Cover and with a Clear View Cover, the same publication has noted. On the other hand, the smartphone will also benefit from having the LED View Cover case along with a Keyboard Cover.

Samsung Galaxy S8 will also be armed with a more premium look, courtesy of an Alcantara leather case. For the uninitiated, an Alcantara leather is not real leather but a synthetic material that resembles that of a suede. A stain-resistant material, the leather is also chic and stylish.

Furthermore, a multimedia dock has been rumored to arrive with Samsung Galaxy S8. It is set to bring an improved set of connectivity options. S8's predecessor Samsung Galaxy S4 had offered a similar dock that featured HDMI and USB ports.

Samsung Galaxy S8 is slated to be unwrapped on Feb. 2017 at the annual Mobile World Congress (MWC).
