Samsung Galaxy S8 news, release date and rumored specs: Samsung to rival Siri and Google Assistant with Viv

There is nothing quite like an iteration that is heralded to be the company's "savior" from its recent global technology fiasco. And if you put Samsung Electronics in the formula, the result can be expectedly engaging, and spectacular for that matter.
Along with Samsung Galaxy Note 8, the next-generation flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy S8 is now speculated to be the South Korean firm's prime attempt to thwart the negative publicity the company has come to face due to its problematic Samsung Galaxy Note 7, the batteries of which are faulty.
And in the recent reports collated regarding Samsung Galaxy S8, it seems that the company is positively heading there. With the right amount of timing and relevant specifications alongside, the upcoming device may very well be the phone manufacturer's most game-changing device yet.
Foremost is the confirmation that the device will be sporting the digital assistant, artificial intelligence-centric Viv. Samsung has previously acquired Viv Labs, a known startup whose creations include Siri, Apple Inc.'s digital assistant. Apparently, the South Korean company is planning to infuse its wearable devices, and its home appliances, with its digital assistant.
As per the company's executive vice president, Rhee Injong, the digital assistance agent, which will have its own dedicated button, will be much smarter as more services are set to be attached to it. As such, a slew of upcoming services are poised to be unveiled by the company in the coming months leading to its official release.
Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to come in two size variants — the 5.7-inch and the 6.2-inch versions, with the latter now being called Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus.
Samsung Electronics is the latest company to join the artificial intelligence's crowd of digital assistance. This is an apparent response to Apple's Siri and the recently unveiled Google Assistant.
Samsung Galaxy S8 is slated to be unveiled in the first quarter of 2017.
