Another looming feature is about to become a fad months from now for tech players globally.

As having a curved screen along with fingerprint sensors are the new highly sought-after features in the toughening crowd of smartphone-making, most tech players will surely follow suit as these are now evidenced by the most recent leaks of the upcoming iterations from leading brands such as Xiaomi, Huawei, LG and even the Google Pixel entries.

And while most of them are busy harnessing these must-have features, tech behemoths Samsung Electronics and Apple Inc. are on all fours introducing ground-breaking features. The latest of these innovations that have caught the South Korean firm's attention is Apple's 3D Touch functionality in its current iPhone releases. As per Express, the company is pegged to follow suit.

Korea Herald reporters were able to talk to an anonymous Samsung supplier and shared that the firm is hoping to add a pressure-sensitive feature akin to Apple's 3D Touch functionality, which the Cupertino-based firm debuted it in its iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. The "Touch" features enable the latest iPhone iterations to detect varying levels of pressure applied to their displays.

Currently, Apple uses 3D Touch to hide complicated menus such as the seconds-consuming "right-click" on the traditional computer while users can still tap, long-press, pinch and swap on their iPhones.

"Herald" has added that Samsung is planning to introduce "curved screen only" iterations in its next-generation flagship smartphones, ultimately ditching the flat variant. Samsung Galaxy S8 is likewise expected to come with under two models — the 5.1-inch dual-curved display and the larger 5.5-inch version.

Other notable features which are set to be introduced in Samsung Galaxy S8 are a super-high 4K resolution, an artificial intelligence (AI) digital assistant named Bixby, a two-camera setup and an improved virtual reality (VR) functionality.
