Samsung Galaxy S6 Release Date, Specs Rumors: May Have 2 Flexible Edges

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 may have not just one but two flexible edges on its display and a full aluminum body to boot.
Rumors on the next iteration in the Galaxy S range indicate that Samsung would create two versions of the phone – a Galaxy S6 and a Galaxy S6 Edge. The Edge version would feature a bent lip like the limited edition Galaxy Note Edge.
The previous model in the line, the Galaxy S5, was released in April of this year, but some rumors are claiming that the next S6 will be having a release date earlier than that in 2015 as Samsung tries to compete with the success of the Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus that saw the California-based company dive into the phablet market.
The Galaxy Note series has been performing better than the smartphones in the Galaxy S series. This could be one reason why the Samsung Galaxy S6 could feature double flexible edges much like the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, which was released earlier this year with one flexible edge.
The success of the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge and the high marks that many reviewers have been giving its flexible edge could see the company designing more smartphones with the same feature, but with an edge that is easier to grip.
On the rumored full aluminum body, industry insiders say Samsung appears intent to give the Galaxy S6 a premium look much like the Apple iPhone range. Recently, a leaked image of a unibody aluminum frame garnered much attention. It was rumored that it formed part of the upcoming Galaxy S6.
If the full aluminum frame materializes, it means that Samsung is coming out with a completely redesigned Galaxy S6. This possibility was hinted at by many websites earlier this year when news broke out that Samsung was going back to the drawing board and redesign the Galaxy S6 from scratch. Theyh say Samsung had given the project the code name "Project Zero" to show that the coming new design would be totally new.
