Samsung Galaxy Note 8 release date, news, specs rumors: Series to be cancelled or rebranded?

South Korean tech company Samsung is currently under fire for the fiasco with the exploding battery of the Galaxy Note 7. The line has since been cancelled, but now, people are wondering about their next flagship phone, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Rumors are coming out that the Galaxy Note 8 may be cancelled in order for the company to focus on other products.
According to reports, Samsung may very well just cancel the Note 8 so they can put more light on the upcoming Galaxy S8. The exploding battery fiasco has put the company name on an all time low, so a lot of people are speculating that they will be putting a lot of energy to keep the scandal behind them.
PC Advisor says it's likely that Samsung will just rebrand the Galaxy Note 8 in order to distance it from the Note 7. Aside from rebranding, it's also possible that Samsung will delay the release of their next phone because they still could not pinpoint the cause of the explosions. The delay will most likely give the developers more time to perfect the device before it comes out in the market.
Speaking of delays, it's reported that the Galaxy Note 7 release was rushed by the company in order to compete with Apple's release of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Hopefully this time, the developers have learned from the fiasco, and users will be getting a much better follow-up to the Galaxy Note 7.
The good news is that Samsung is offering an upgraded program for anyone who trades in their Galaxy Note 7's for the Galaxy S7 in Korea. It's said that anyone who chooses to get the upgrade will be allowed to exchange their units for the Galaxy S8 or Galaxy Note 8 when it comes out next year — if it comes out next year.
Will the Galaxy Note series be cancelled and rebranded, or will it still be able to retain its title? Stay tuned.
