Samsung Galaxy Note 8 news, release date and rumored specs: Tipster confirms next phablet in the works with leaked model numbers

Right after it was announced officially by Samsung Electronics itself that it would discontinue the production and marketing of its problematic Samsung Galaxy Note 7 due to its overheating and exploding batteries, people have immediately surmised that the series was done.
On the other hand, some circles have also theorized that Samsung Galaxy Note 7's untimely conclusion didn't mean that the South Korean firm was ditching the entire roster. Furthermore, these same news outlets have even gone speculating that the firm may go with releasing a successor to the infamous iteration.
Now, all of these rumors have been quelled with just a single tweet. Noted leakster Evan Blass has recently taken over his official Twitter account and announced the model numbers of Samsung's upcoming flagship smartphones. He tweeted, "Samsung Galaxy S8 models are indeed skipping SM-G94* model numbers, will ship as SM-G950 & SM-G955. Know what else is in the works? SM-N950."
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 had previously taken up the model number SM-930 but it has been abruptly concluded due to some technical issues with its battery. As such, the company has asked its consumers to return and exchange them with one of its more recent flagship smartphones such as Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.
Notably, Samsung will be skipping the model number SM-N94* as the number 4 is associated with bad luck. And if there is anything that the firm couldn't afford to do nowadays it is the act of committing yet another critical mistake. More precisely, Samsung Galaxy Note 8, along with Samsung Galaxy S8, are ultimately becoming their tickets to redemption in this otherwise toughening industry.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is now rumored to be unveiled on January 2017. The forthcoming iteration may come with an improved, all-new S-Pen.
