The stakes are getting higher for the South Korean firm Samsung Electronics in ensuring that its next flagship phablet, Samsung Galaxy Note 8, is treated with the much-needed redeeming features and specifications, just enough to veer away from and ultimately reduce the stigma its problematic predecessor Note 7 has caused tremendously both on the company's well-guarded reputation and revenues.

And now that the forthcoming tablet has almost been greenlit with the recent speculations, albeit no confirmation from Samsung yet, it would be acceptable to officially theorize on the potential specifications Samsung Galaxy Note 8 may bring to the table.

The latest round of features the rumors mills have collectively agreed upon to is Samsung Galaxy Note 8's forthcoming power. ValueWalk has shared that Samsung is partnering with Qualcomm and working on the Snapdragon 835 for the next phablet. Furthermore, it has suggested that a 10nm production process will be utilized for the device's chip.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is also expected to come with the now-traditional 5.7-inch, edge-to-edge display. The removal of the home button is also tipped to happen on the next phablet. Likewise, a 4K resolution, the reintroduction of the firm's iris scanner and an improved virtual reality (VR) support are pegged to be introduced.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is also rumored to come in two size variants — the purported 5.7-inch and 6.2-inch variants. Once released, the sizes would stand out as two of the biggest sizes in the phablet market.

Samsung's S-Pen is also speculated to return with embedded speakers. Alongside this, a wildly rumored artificial intelligence (AI) assistant, which was first attached to Samsung Galaxy S8, may also debut in this phablet roster.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is slated to arrive in late 2017 months after the firm's imminent flagship smartphone Samsung Galaxy S8 gets unveiled.
