Samsung Galaxy Note 7 release date, specs news: May skip Note 6 to launch Galaxy Note 7 in August?

Samsung announces new superfast version of the Galaxy Note 4. | Official Samsung Website

There have been numerous reports all over the internet regarding Samsung's next Galaxy Note release. According to the latest report, Samsung may skip the Galaxy Note 6 and launch a new Samsung Galaxy Note 7.

Previous rumors suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 may carry impressive specs, which include a 5.8-inch RGB AMOLED display, 6 GB of RAM, fingerprint and retina scanners, among others. However, the new speculations coming from several tech observers are pretty interesting. If rumors prove to be true, tech freaks will be able to see a new Samsung phablet sometime in August. However, it is not going to be the Samsung Galaxy Note 6.

Tech observers took note of the inconsistencies of the company's previous releases. According to them, Samsung's latest Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge should be released along with Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and not the Galaxy Note 6. They added that the company will never associate the upcoming phablet to an older model such as the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.

According to the report, Samsung's plan is to release another Galaxy Note model this year to compete with Apple's iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, which are expected to be launched this year.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that the upcoming Galaxy Note 7 will carry a dual-edge screen. If rumors prove to be true, it will be the first of its kind for the series. There are speculations that Samsung will start the development of the Galaxy Note 7 in July, followed by an immediate release in August. It could be a good strategy coming from the company to release the device earlier than Apple's rumored plan to launch the iPhone in September or October.

Nonetheless, these reports have yet to be confirmed by the Korean tech giant. Fans should take these pieces of information with a grain of salt until Samsung decides to make the Galaxy Note 7 official.
